SFR was started by extreme swimmer Andrew Chin almost a decade ago to highlight our distressed waterways. Chin grew up on a farm, swimming in rivers which irrigated crops. Today, those rivers are highly polluted. Chin has used his profile as an extreme swimmer to bring awareness to water challenges and to seek solutions.

Communities living alongside rivers identified one of their biggest challenges to be carrying heavy buckets of water from rivers to their homes. We’ve identified 90l mobile Hippo Rollers as an interim relief tool and we’re now seeking to sink boreholes in the worst affected areas.
